Effort Less Foundation Course

Learn the Foundation of Everything

Walking is where movement begins.

But movement is much more than just walking.

The Effort Less Method explores the foundations of how we move every day — walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, using stairs and carrying weight.

These simple movements are the building blocks for everything else we do.

When you understand how to organise your body more naturally, these principles can be carried into other areas of movement — whether that’s the gym, Pilates, dance, sport, or simply moving through everyday life.

This course teaches you how to move with your body, not against it — creating more ease, balance and efficiency in the movements you already do every day.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to initiate movement from your hips and glutes

  • How your feet should support (without overworking)

  • How to stop overusing your upper body

  • How joints support movement

  • How to move with less effort but more control

Why focus on the foundations of movement?

Because the way we move through simple everyday actions shapes everything else we do.

The Effort Less Method explores the building blocks of movement:

• walking
• standing
• sitting
• bending
• squatting
• using stairs
• carrying weight
• balance and coordination

These are the movements we repeat every day — and the same principles can be carried into other areas such as the gym, Pilates, dance, sport and exercise.

By learning how to organise your body more naturally, movement can begin to feel more efficient, adaptable and effortless.

Who It’s For

  • Complete beginners who want to understand how their body moves

  • People who feel stiff, awkward, tense or disconnected from their body

  • Anyone wanting to build more confidence, coordination and ease in movement

  • Current students or movers who feel stuck and want to understand the foundations more deeply

  •  Anyone who wants to take these principles into exercise, Pilates, dance, sport or everyday life

You don’t need to be flexible, strong or experienced — just curious about moving in a different way.

Why a 6 week course?

Movement is something we learn through experience and repetition.

The Effort Less Method is designed as a progressive 6 week course, giving your body time to explore, adapt and build new movement strategies.

Each week builds on the last — starting with the foundations and gradually applying them to more everyday movements such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, stairs, balance and carrying.

This gives you time to not only understand the principles, but to actually notice them in your own body and begin applying them outside the studio.

The aim isn’t to learn a set of exercises and forget them.

It’s to develop a deeper understanding of movement that you can take into everyday life, exercise, Pilates, dance, sport and beyond.

What you may notice

  • Movement feeling lighter and less forced

  • Less unnecessary tension and effort

  • A greater awareness of how your body moves

  • More confidence and trust in your movement• Improved balance, coordination and control

  • Everyday movements feeling more connected and natural

The goal isn’t to move perfectly — it’s to understand your body better and discover how movement can feel with less effort.
